DISTRICTWIDE PROJECTS FOR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE:
The security camera systems districtwide will be upgraded or replaced to higher resolution cameras that provide a superior level of zoom. More cameras will be installed to provide better visual coverage around the schools. The security camera systems will be networked to the central office to allow for viewing any camera in the district remotely.
Many of the public announcement systems, especially in the mountain and mesa regions are decades old and no longer work correctly. Consequently, it is difficult for the school staff to communicate with the students and staff in the event of an emergency. The outdated and unreliable public announcements systems across the district will be replaced.
Infection Control and COVID Mitigation Measures
Several infection control strategies will be utilities to mitigate the spread of COIVD-19 and other future infectious diseases. Across all sites there will be an increase in filtration efficiency with higher MERV filters and bi-polar particle ionizers will be installed in HVAC systems to keep particles large and attack pathogens. There will be a large retro-commissioning of existing HVAC systems to increase ventilation amount without impacting ideal space relative humidity, to implement 100% OSA flushes in mornings and evenings and to repair any broken dampers to ensure proper ventilation.
At sites receiving new HVAC systems, enhanced infectious disease control strategies will be utilized in the HVAC designs that include: Humidification in select areas, increased outside air ventilation rates above code/standard minimums, increased total supply air changes per hour (ACH), higher rated filtration, and bipolar ionizers tied into control system for ease of maintenance and control of deployment.
